So, I got a question this morning from a reader…Where does one buy great flats for under $200, Courtney?! I kinda wanted to smack her because 1.) she’s one of my best friends and I want her budget and 2.) she lives in DC and has every major fashion label at her disposal. But, whatevs, because this is a great question and not all of us can afford to run out and buy a pair of Prada flats for everyday of the week.
These are a few I came across and am loving at the moment:
BCBGMAXAZRIA – Studded Skimmers, $199. Why? Because studs are staying in style for spring and summer. Available at www.saksfifthavenue.com
Belle by Sigerson Morrison – Cutout Ballet Flat, $198. Why? Because this lower-cost label by SM is fantastic and we’ve seen a variation of this cutout shoe by both Prada and Miu Miu for more than twice the price. Available at www.saksfifthavenue.com
Diane Von Furstenberg – Sao Flat, $195. Why? Because Pantone just named turquoise the new color of 2010. Available at www.shoptheshoebox.com
Bloch – Metallic Ballet Flat, $125. Why? Because no one makes flats better than ballet dancers. Case in point – Repetto. Now you don’t have to fly across the pond to get yours next to the Opera National de Paris. Available at www.bloomingdales.com
